I think of Mr. Pirate and wish I could borrow him because I recall Pirate mentioning he is an expert at domestic arts at their house.

Cooking only!  Well, he does his own laundry, too.   Which in my book, is just dandy.  :-)

As for cleaning, sometimes his idea of "clean" is a lick-and-a-promise.  :-)

As you may remember I've mostly been practicing freemotion quilting on my Amara lately.  But I also have intermittently been working on a couple of I spy patterns.  The blocks have been done for a couple of weeks but not put together.  So I finished them up tonight as my Janome has been feeling neglected.

The 1st one is another fun easy pattern by Kim Brackett.  But for some reason I got off on my rows/columns and made it square - so I left the top & bottom rows off - though I may add them back later.

The 2nd one made my brain hurt laying out the blocks.  I ended up adding an extra 2x2 white square under each hsts, just to make putting the blocks together easier.  The original pattern has the rows interlocking - sorry I don't know the name, I just saw it on pintrest.  Kind of looks like dancing stars to me.

I'll probably add some kind of borders eventually, but for now they are aging in the closet.

Did you go shopping i my stash?  I have all three fabrics in your CW block!  Very seldom do I see fabrics that I already have.  I love your block and your description is spot on.  Are you witting notes on each block  to keep with the finished quilt?

Oh, I love those pinwheel blocks!  Just what I need--more inspiration. I'm glad I figured out how to save your photos to Pintrest.

My cousin (a sister to me) is expecting a new granddaughter in Feb. so I figured I better get to work on a baby quilt.  I wanted to play with my 30s fabrics and found this cute pattern on Missouri *, called Kitty Committee. I made a whole herd of little 4.5 inch kitties and now just have to put them together.

You had me talking to myself as I was reading your text under the second photo. I was muttering "How did she do that one?" and then I continued the conversation as I figured it out .... wink

Love how your adventurous mind takes you down all these different paths.

Yes, Lynne, I am keeping a three-ring notebook with printed pages of directions from Quilter's Cache plus lined notebook pages with my handwritten notes on my "logic" behind my choice of fabrics, etc.

I did not fly on my broomstick in the middle of the night and snatch those fabrics from your basement in Illinois. smirk

I think you are having a whole lot of fun making this baby quilt for a special person's new granddaughter.  It's really, really cute.
