Mostly done with the baby quilt I am working on...for my new grandson - due in April.
Son and Daugher-in-law wanted white, grey and blue, a Snoopy and the baby's name - Zayd.
I found a panel with Snoopy as an astronaut, standing on Mars. You have to know my son to know this is PERFECT! He adores all things space related.
I wanted to do the loopy stars on the blue part of the background...will think about that another day! For now, I did get all the way around Snoopy and Mars with the ruler foot... and did the small white border... and did some shadow letters with Zayd's name with my regular foot.
I am going to put the binding on it...and if I ever figure out how to do the loopy stars, I can add that later. Binding is blue stars on white. Why I am not worried about the backing is its fleece, orange fleece! (it was the only piece of fleece that looked ok - I have two different blues and I have other blue fabric that I could have done a batting and backing, but none of it looked good...blues are really hard to match!)
I will post a picture hopefully in a day or two... or maybe next weekend.

Three more great blocks and stories for your Kresge Kid quilt. Keep it up. I love the stories.

Cathy, a little while ago you suggested that I could make a braid block for my Kresge Kid quilt to commemorate my years of growing long hair (and then trying to manage it with a braid).
Ever willing to use a good suggestion I have created two blocks (one six inch and one seven inch) because I have no idea which size might be best when it comes time to assemble this crazy Kresge idea together.
I had not realized how many rusty-red fabrics I had in my stash.
Now I really have to focus on finding blocks to represent my son and his twins.
I keep procrastinating on those three people.

Lovely braid blocks! For the twins, could you make some kind of block in tartan plaids to represent their bagpiping?

finishing up the house quilt. I think I'm going to enter it in our local quilt show - the theme is Stars so it's appropriate. I decided I wanted a narrow binding instead of my normal and so I'm sewing it down by hand - gah! It is taking me longer to sew the binding down than it did to quilt the edge to edge.

How marvelous!!! What a serendipitous choice of theme!

Thank you, thank you for the idea of tartan plaid!
I've just endured watching part of an Eleanor Burns video as she gave a lesson on how to make the "Twin Sisters" quilt (oh how that woman grates on my nerves). I fast forwarded and watched only what was necessary to get the gist of the method and was gazing at my stash thinking about two fabric choices.
Then I decided to take a break and visit this lovely forum and here you were offering a suggestion. I had found the Twin Sisters block in the Brackman book but that book never gives instructions on how to create the blocks so I had to resort to Google to find the Eleanor Burns You Tube video.

Okay, Lynne, it drove me a bit nuts to work with tartan in such a crowded block but I survived. Only had one plaid fabric on hand and I was not in the mood to go online shopping for a cotton plaid print that might be smaller than the one I already have.
And of course I was in such a hurry that one seam is a bit off. Why was I in such a hurry? Had to bake some biscuits to go with the leftover stew for supper.
Anyhow, I don't think I'll bother to finish the block that is the "twin sister" that is mainly black fabric; the one I plan to use in the quilt is the "twin" that is mainly plaid.
It annoys me that there is no way to match the plaid pieces. My DM taught me to match plaids when I made my own clothes and I am very good at it but those days are long gone ....
