Both of my babies (now 49 and 46) needed to wear cloth diapers since they were allergic to Pampers so I used cloth diapers as as burp cloths.
I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the concept of specifically designed burp cloths. LOL

I used cloth diapers as well, both on Dd's bottom and a couple kept separately for burp cloths. I used pre-folded cloth diapers for the burp cloths and just added embroidery and fabric for embellishment. DD also plans to use cloth diapers so she will have plenty of choices.

I finished putting on the center borders on the penguin baby quilt. Now, there is only the last set of borders to do. I'm using those pieces as a L/E as I sew clue 1 on Bonnie Hunter's mystery.

Thanks Cathy. I love those penguins too ...... they are so cute and easy to sew.

This thread got a little quiet so I thought I would get it going again. I've been doing pretty good at working on my pile of tops and getting them quilted and bound. They are just kid charity quilts and when i get a few more finished I;ll run them through the washer and take some photos. I've been working on a kid quilt using the way Jenny (form Missouri Star) makes hsts by drawing a line form corner to corner and sewing on with side of it then cutting. You get 8 hsts that way with little trimming. I just wanted to give it a try.
I checked out JoAnns on cyber Monday and placed an order. I got a bolt of 80/20 batting(90 inches X 30 yards) for about $100 and that should last me a long time. It isn't some well known brand but I like it and since 99% of my quilts are charity quilts I try to save $ wherever I can. They also had $9/yd fleece for $3 so I grabbed some of that. I use it on the backs of the bigger kid quilts because for some reason I just hate piecing backings and it is nice and wide.

You sure stay busy with your charity quilts. I also like using fleece as the backing because it's extra cuddly.
Yesterday I made a reversible tissue box cover. One side is fall fabric, the other side is Christmas fabric. It's for DD and DSIL. That is the last sewing I'll do for a while. I've started packing up my sewing room to turn it into a guest room.
