Thank you very much
I have been taking a break from quilting the x-mas quilt. And working on Christmas themed pin cushions. Tiny ones to stick on top of your machine - aren't they cute! They are for one of the local guild's booth at the quilt show in August. I combined the minature dresden flowers I made for the AZ retreat hostesses several years ago with a little pincushion I picked up somewhere that was on top of a golf tee to stick in a spool of thread. I've been using that little one on top of my machine and really like having it handy there. I only did 8 "pedals" instead of the 12 in the pattern I used previously, but basically the same idea as a dresden fan.
Those are so, so cute!
Those are adorable, Dee!

Really cute! Nice sharp points on the petals. How do you stick them to your machine?
sew a little piece of velcro to the cushion, then stick on velcro to the machine. I also stick on some snips the same way. Love stick on velcro.
the points are sewn by folding the fabric, sewing, then turning out. very easy. the raw edges are exposed on the bottom, but it's so small it doesn't really matter, the velcro covers most of it.
I made good progress on my Christmas quilt. I got some advise from a lady in a local guild who quilts for the public, she suggested I limit my fills to 3, and pick ones I am comfortable doing (skip the bubbles). So I did swirls, peacock feathers, and leaves. I have now finished all the fills and started on the grid between the frames. I will have to make a decision on the border soon.
