I love the look of that. It's going to be gorgeous! Where is your road trip this time? I'm sure you will make lots of progress on these blocks during your travels.

Yours is lovely. I would have difficulty doing it with my arthritic fumble fingers. Even binding is getting more difficult.

Will this finish up your outbuildings too? You have been working hard. Glad you have finally decided what direction to go in with the house.

Sorry to hear about your DH's fall. Sounds like the trip to the ER found other issues previously unidentified. I have had doctors for patients. The sedated ones were the easiest to manage. Really as long as I took into consideration their knowledge was greater than mine about medicine, not nursing, and that they don't like to lose control(who does?), I had no problems. As a nurse, I'm a piece of cake to take care of. I know what nurses do and have to put up with. I'm glad he is ok now and you can go back to doing what you like.
I'm interested to see how your improv piece turns out. I like scrappy. Somewhere I have 36 crumb blocks waiting to be assembled. I need to pull them out and get that finished.

I like either the beads or the swag. Both seems too much. Both look time consuming at this point since you want to finish. You have put so much work into this project, it's worth the time to do it the way you really want it.
That's a perfect pumpkin!

I have the house empty except for some cushions to sleep on and a few items I need in the morning. Everything else is in a small area in the garage that I just need to figure out how to fit on truck. I just need to sweep and vacuum house. The rental company will do a deep clean. Our sheds are packed to the brim with stuff that will stay here. After this we need one more trip for a handful of stuff that is bulky and will not fit in truck. Will come later this summer for those and use DBIL utility trailer. Also haul stuff in the yard to the dump. DH left at 3:30 this morning pulling our small old RV and will work today.....he should be there now. I will leave in the morning when I get up.....tempting to push hard and leave today but think it better to just sleep here on the floor one more night and leave when I wake up in the morning. I will be driving a 16 foot Penski truck and will take my time.

It was this past (long) weekend. There are 9 shops along the central California coast that band together for an annual shop hop. On Friday, from our house to where we stayed overnight the first night was 300 miles, but we hit the 4 shops that were prior to our camping spot. On Saturday, it was another 300 miles, but round trip. Sunday, we decided to stay put in San Luis Obispo and revisit some old haunts from when our oldest DD went to the university there.
Mr Pirate & I also saw Top Gun: Maverick! Very enjoyable, even with the obvious plot devices and storyline holes. :-) It was true to the Top Gun franchise, so you really can't complain (too much). :-)
We drove back home today (Monday).
I made some modest and not-so-modest purchases. Since I'm not actively doing a lot of machine piecing these days, I'm not looking for *yardage*. I was concentrating on Fat Quarters to work with a different EPP project that is in-progress. :-)
One of the stores that I had never been to before (not surprising, as why would I be traveling down the coast??) was Creation Station in Buellton. It was undeniably the *best* quilt store I've been to in a long, long time. Staff was wonderful. Inventory was fantastic. Decor was great. I kinda wish this was my local store!
So, if anyone is ever in the vicnity of Buellton, CA, I heartily encourage you to visit Creation Station. 10/10. :-)

What a lot of work you've put in Ami. Safe travels today.
I don't recall hearing if you've rented a place in Colorado, if you're buying, or if you will be continuing to stay at your brother-in-law's house.

For right now we are at DBIL. Not sure what is down the road for us.
