I belong to a Facebook group called "RV Quilters". It's a group of quilters who travel and sew in their RVs. Or quilters who want to have RVs. OR quilters who are the in the process of getting an RV. Or people who already have an RV and would like to quilt. It's kind of an easy group. :-)
Any way, member Renie Morse recently posted a picture of the *very real* problem that could happen when you sew out of doors (which RV quilters typically do). I gotta say that I have never, ever considered such a situation. She said that the worm just dropped onto her sewing machine as she was sewing the seam .. and .. well ... she stitched right over it.
OH YUCKO! :-)
She also said that it upset her so much that she quit sewing for the day. LOL!
Have you ever read about the Darwin Award?
This little worm just earned the insect version of the Darwin Award because he will not live to propagate his species due to his reckless behavior.
Yuck is right! But I think that would be better than a big blob of berry-stained bird poop on the quilt.
whenever I stitch out of doors (my back patio - haven't ever in the woods!)...I typically have a patio umbrella set up over me...
y'all might want to think about carrying one that clamps to the table to ward off such disgustingness!
I have lived in my RV for 3 years now and have yet to take my sewing machine outdoors. Handsewing yes. That sure looks like a mess on her large piece of fabric and hopefully she can wash it out.
Hahaha! Poor lady had better put an umbrella above her or a rain fly!
