It calls for 3.5 yards to make the smaller size quilt and six yards to make a bed size quilt.

I shiver to think of making a bed size quilt out of six inch blocks.

Thanks for those measurements. I agree about making a bed sized quilt our of 6" blocks.

Eeeek!

Well, I am very, very puzzled about how to arrange these blocks. I am somewhat like Dee; I like to feel organized, in control of any quilt that I work on and these blocks are not exactly "controllable".  LOL

No two blocks are alike! Some are sort of similar but not really.

I have an idea to put densely patterned blocks in the upper right corner and less patterned ones in the lower left corner but I am not sure that is going to look okay.

I put measuring tapes on the design wall to indicate the 46" x 52" size this little thing is supposed to be.

Right now this thing is looking pretty hopeless.

I tend to be in you and Dee's wheelhouse too.  But don't can't your judgment until you get the blocks done and play around them a bit.  You might want to scattered the red around a bit too but looking either interesting.

My opinion. You have a good start. You have a lot more blocks to go so I would keep making them. I would be tempted to add sashing and then alternate red and green blocks and try to space the colors around the quilt. As you make more blocks it may start to come together a bit.

Do you remember seeing any photos of Elvis Presley where his upper lip is lifted in a sneer?

I walked into my sewing room this morning, turned around and looked at my design wall and I swear I sneered at the quilt blocks like I was young Elvis ...

Not a good sign, ladies, not a good sign.

I am going to get a box and put the completed blocks and pinned triangles (unsewn blocks) in the box and if anyone wants them let me know and I'll take the box to the post office. Otherwise they go in the trash on Wednesday.

I'd rather spend my time working jigsaw puzzles than spend more time on this quilt project.

Just not my cup of tea as the saying goes.

Judy, I just finished a new quilt for our bed. It's 100" X 100" string pieced 5" blocks. It has 400 blocks and I love it. You taught me string piecing and I think of you often. The Xylophone Quilt will finally get a rest. I wanted to send a picture to you of  both quilts, but I got a message that I have no more space left for photos. I haven't posted many and haven't even posted words in a few years, but I read the comments everyday.

I would love to have your throw away half done quilt a if you are serious about not liking it.

I am having fun in a quilts of valor group. Someone cuts all of the blocks with an accuquilt cutter and puts the pieces for each block in a baggie. They are distributed to the sewers and we have a quilt top made in 3 or 4 hours. We meet at a mall in a meeting room and have lunch in the food court.

I haven't received my email in over 2 weeks. AT&T told me on my 5th phone call the there is a VERY LARGE GROUP of customers involved and they are working to fix it. She said do not try to log in until it is fixed and she would send me an email to let me know. I asked her how I would read it if I can't log in?

In the meantime I opened an account with Google MaryDQuilter at gmail.com

Thinking of you, Mary

If your street address still starts with 924 and your Zip Code is still 32825 then I will make an address label for the box and get it ready to ship on Monday morning. If your address has changed over the years, let me know through the Private Message system here on Delphi.

The pattern instructions are inside the box plus two extra yards I purchased to make a solid border to frame this "masterpiece" once I had the blocks all put into a quilt top.

I just found that the colors were not ringing my chimes.

You know me, Mary ... I am not that fond of fabrics with a lot of green. LOL

It's good to know you are still hanging around, Mary. I've wondered where you were.

As for posting photos .... use the little icon that is fifth from the right above the message box where you are typing your message for the forum. Click on the icon that kind of looks like a scenic picture and a drop-down message will say "From my computer" and "From the web".

Before I click on the icon I make sure to drag one of my photos that I want to share with everybody from one of my emails or from my "photos" on to my desktop. Then when I click "From my computer" I find the photo of my quilt on my desktop and click on that and whee! it is in my message.

Of course, I am using an iMac and it might not work that way if you are using another kind of computer.

Sorry, Mishii, Mary in Florida spoke up first.

She's a sly one .... grabbed one of my big green monsters years ago. This one will be easier to ship.
