Sometimes, though, I feel like if I set it aside and do something else for a while, I can be fresher and less sick of looking at something. I don't like UFOs sitting, but I also like the flexibility to move on, change up, etc. :D Maybe we should count UFOs that are not yet tops! LOL!!!

I have a huge bon of UFOs and some of them will never get done. I am trying to work thru the bin slowly. No idea how many. I have slowed way down on starting new projects and since a few years ago I do finish my new projects.
I do agree it is nice to work on more than on thing because it mixes things up a bit and keeps it from getting tedious.

I don't use them. I found I always messed them up and it made the quilt wavy. I didn't need the extra hassle. I make mine edge to edge. ¯\_(?)_/¯ Hey, I figure we all get to choose our own way! I'm with you!

I on the other hand feel almost physical discomfort leaving something before it is completed, even if I don't like it.
I can leave most things unfinished or a piece held by the needle in the machine but I was trained that you ALWAYS make the bed!! Even leaving a hotel room I fluff the bedding so it looks sloppily made but not in bunches and hanging off the end or pulled to one side! NOPE

Probably about 8-10, but that's down from around 40 from two years ago. I've been mostly trying to get my UFO's under some sort of control for the last couple of years.
I need to finish more and start less.

Yes! :D
I found a lady at a nearby nursing home (friend of a friend) who was willing to take fabric...but thse's super picky. Only quilt store fabric, no batting, nothing that's backing, nothing cut up...oh boy!
