The problem isn't getting from connection to connection. I have used wheelchairs for years. The problem is the weather and the 8 or more hours getting there and back. I'm old and don't want to spend that much time traveling. Southwest direct to Phoenix was only 2 hours. When you reach 82, you will understand.

Some of you will notice that I'm not on the Hostess List this year. Because Southwest has discontinued the direct flight from Wichita to Phoenix.
Oh (((( Carolyn )))) retreat just won't be the same without YOU!! This will be the first time I'm coming from DEN so I'll learn how that goes.
Thanks all you do for the retreat. I hope we can keep a live link going to "keep you there."

I was listening to NewsMax this morning and they said today is referred to as "Travel Tuesday" and there are great deals. I thought... sure. But then DJ texted me about his flight to CA for a pre-Christmas wedding and family Christmas activities. Said he got a great deal. I'm going to go look now and anyone else looking to fly in to PHX might want to check.
ETA: Nothing great so far... that I am willing to pay.

Yesterday Ellen, Kim, Carrie and I met at the hotel to see if we thought there was really enough space. The space is smaller than last year. We will only have space for 2 ironing boards and 2 large cutting mats. So, please, if you have a project you know you will be working on, cut as much of it at home as you can to minimize waits for the space. There will not be a lot of free space in the room so we will all need to be flexible with things like show and tell and serving meals. The guest rooms are a nice size. I will probably leave some of my stuff in there and bring one project at a time. If you have a small light, brincathyg it. You will definitely need it at night.
We are looking forward to seeing you all. It will be fun. #21.

I assume with no mention of shuttle service for airport people we are on our own. Didn't see anything on the hotel website either.
Thanks!

Carolyn Denver is a hit and miss any time of year. The earlier in the day the better. They really try to get you outta there if they can.
I am driving this year with my Husband. We will take two days to get there and back and plan a little sightseeing each way.
Can you get a flight thru St Louis??? That is a major hub and might be a more sure on time itenary.

This is exactly why I like to have everyone's itinerary so that I can match people that are arriving about the same time to share a Lyft or Uber. The hotel has no shuttle service.
