By way of update:  My mobility scooter was found in SW Cargo and they sent it to us at home by way of Fed Ex.

That's good, hope you can get it fixed or replaced!

Oh yes 2 1/2 yrs. Her brothers adore her and g she returns the feelings!  Cole will be 18 in August and continue on to Aviation School. Since he took dual credit classes, he’ll graduate from HS and begin college as a junior!  He has been Piper’s babysitter for her life while Kim works 1-2 days a week. Yes we are very proud of him! heart_eyes

one piece 30 inches, the other 36 inches...the larger one makes a border on the smaller one

This sounds interesting. Do you turn down part of the larger 6” to sew as binding? Oh how I wish I could be at retreat!!! I miss everyone so much.

this is the theory... and its a pretty good tutorial. Size is the only difference - this one does not include cutting instructions but as long as you have at least 6 inches  bigger on the back, it works. (I suppose it would work if it were 4, but the border would be much smaller!)

You just need to be super careful to START stitching & STOP stitching at the 1/4 inch end points.

There are youtube videos showing how to do it.  That's how I learned.

There's lots of them, so if one doesn't suit you,  look at another one.

I've been intrigued with panels lately too and I think I've saved a few examples/ideas to finish them in unique way.  The slab 'o borders just doesn't really do it for me but it would allow some interesting quilting ideas.

I'll help if there is a machine I can borrow.  I'm thinking of not schlepping my FW this year.  Carolyn might be able to tell me if there is a machine available.  I did request one of the application. If not, I might be able in other ways like pulling fabrics together, cutting, etc.

I'm curious, did you carry the machine on?  Or check it?
