I may be using one of those panel patterns right away - the fabric my sister gave me to make a quilt for her grandson has a panel. I think I'll use the delectable mountain pattern and go all the way around this panel instead of just the top. I have a jelly roll and a layer cake, I think that should be enough. The mountains will be appropriate and make it a bit more boyish.

We just made it back home after 2 days on the road. I am sorry I could not help with anything this year. With my vertigo I feel seasick most of the time and my balance is totally messed up.
I did enjoy being able to come thanks to my wonderful husband getting me there and back. Thank you all for all the fun visiting, show and tell and good snacks and food.
Hostesses you all are the best putting this on every year!!!

Sorry to miss you and Judy this morning. Mark was antsy to get on the road.
I'm sorry I missed you... and Mark too! I've only gotten up at 5:15AM for heart surgery check-in! But I made down to the lobby to meet Kathy, Misha and Mishi at 6:45am as planned! I was even completely dressed and had hair curled and makeup on! Jealously I left Shelley sleeping comfortably. Glad we had a chance to talk during the retreat.

i do LOVE my quilting friends!
Special thanks to everyone who volunteered for jobs and tasks! It definitely made my retreat time some of the most enjoyable and relaxed!
Special thanks to Kathi and Donna for helping so many with loading up today! I think I was the most relaxed I have ever been at one of our retreats!
I'm so glad you were a bit more relaxed in general! I even saw you sewing at your machine during daylight hours and not only as one of the late sewers. That made me very happy. We do have a mighty special group of special quilting buddies! It's still amazing to some people I tell about the retreat that we've been making this a personal priority for more than 20 years!! Girls.... in this day and age that's rather rare and precious I think.

Viola! It was so good to see you and to see how well you are doing since you moved closer to your son. More power to you for still wanting to visit friends and driving so far to meet up with them!

it was so wonderful to see you again Nyla and to see you getting around more easily in your new ride!

DH.... He told me he understood now why I enjoyed it so much, and is even planning on driving me again next year.
It was so fun to put a face with his name. I will have to start working on my DH to come with me next year too!! I know he would have enjoyed being with all the other "quilting widows" but don't think he would have been keen on trying rattlesnake! It was fun to see how the husbands got along and enjoy themselves too!

That will be a wonderful quilt for your sister's grandson. And Delectable Mountains will add dimension to it also I think.

I did make it back home later yesterday afternoon. David lifted my suitcase into the back of the car and returned to his driver seat saying something about it being a bit heavier than it was on the way out! LOL We discovered an In-N-Out Burger on our trip home not far from the Denver airport and missing them in CA we had to stop! After our burgers we made it home in good time and I was finally collapsed in my chair. He had also gotten up early to play his oboe in orchestra so he was tired too. We were in bed by 8pm with lights out! And my young dog Amanda with her wiggle b*tt was extra wiggly so she seemed glad to see me too.
