Click on a member's name on a message or in Chat, opening their Profile gives you the option to Add as Friend. The member receives a message to accept.

Wow....I did as you suggested...and within minutes got a response back that said I was accepted as his 'friend'.   How about that!~  Thanks for the assist...couldn't have done it without ya.
