Alan Thicke passed away aged 69 in hospital after becoming unconscious while playing hockey, with his son Carter. It is believed he had a massive heart attack.

I was shocked.  We tend to remember actors for their most memorable roles. He was much younger in Growing Pains, so I don't remember him as being almost 70.

it is amazing isn't it? I did not either! When you follow the link you can see he looks his age, but on TV he did not - reminds me of Tom Selleck!

Tom Selleck and Lou Cariou are almost the same age but play son and father.

He is much older than his children.  A good dye job helps.

maybe not - my daddy was in his 60's when he passed and he still had pitch black hair, with a little smidge of gray on his hair line near his ears. His dad was the same and his passed in his late 60's early 70's.
