ABC has announced the cast for the upcoming 26th season of Dancing with the Stars. This time around it's all athletes...
Johnny Damon (former baseball player)
Kareem Abdul Jabbar (former basketball player)
Chris Mazdzer (luger)
Josh Norman (football player)
Adam Rippon (figure skater)
Jamie Anderson (snowboarder)
Jennie Finch (former softball player)
Tonya Harding (former figure skater)
Mirai Nagasu (figure skater)
Arike Ogunbowale (basketball player)
This will be a shortened 4-week season with a smaller than usual cast. The premiere is on Monday, April 30.
Tonya Harding. I will watch it to see her.
Josh Norman currently plays for the Washington Redskins.
NFL training camp usually start at the end of July. This edition of Dancing with the Stars is a short 4 weeks, so it will be over by the end of May. (The show usually starts in March, runs 10-11 weeks, and ends in May.)
BTW, in order to crown a winner in just 4 weeks I think they will have to have a double elimination every week.
The short season is probably due to American Idol taking over the Monday timeslot throughout March and April. It looks like Idol will have just one episode (Sunday) per week during the 4 weeks of Dancing, and then Idol returns with a Sunday/Monday 2-part season finale on May 20/21.
