This was our Live Story last week. NBC listened to fans and reversed the cancellation. The show will return for Season 6.
Oh, this had nothing to do with any last minute "save our show" campaign by fans. In order for NBC to have swept in so quickly, they must have been planning this for weeks, if not months. The show is produced by NBC-owned Universal Television, so the profits will stay in-house. (NBC apparently wanted the show originally, but was outbid by FOX.)
Show ownership is becoming more important for the networks, as foreign distribution and syndication money makes up a higher percentage of the profits than it used to (that money goes to the production studio, not the network). So we're probably going to see a lot fewer shows airing on networks that don't own the production studios.
