--The foundation has never been upfront about its vision for agriculture in the world's poorest countries, nor the role of controversial technologies like GM. But perhaps it could start the debate here?

'Bill Gates is continuing the work of Monsanto', Vandana Shiva tells FRANCE 24

filed on 23 Oct 2019

FRANCE 24 English
France 24 now:

Vandana Shiva, a world-famous environmental activist from India. Her latest book is entitled "One Earth, One Humanity vs. the 1%". She tell us about more her opposition to big multinationals such as Monsanto for their nefarious influence on agriculture. But Shiva also singles out billionaires like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg for criticism. "When Bill Gates pours money into Africa for feeding the poor in Africa and preventing famine, he’s pushing the failed Green Revolution, he’s pushing chemicals, pushing GMOs, pushing patterns", she tells FRANCE 24's Marc Perelman.

Why is the Gates foundation investing in GM giant Monsanto?

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's investments in Monsanto and Cargill have come under heavy criticism. Is it time for the foundation to come clean on its visions for agriculture in developing countries?

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is sponsoring the Guardian's Global development site is being heavily criticised in Africa and the US for getting into bed not just with notorious GM company Monsanto, but also with agribusiness commodity giant Cargill.

An Italian MP has called for billionaire Bill Gates to face trial in the International Criminal Court for charges of ''crimes against humanity.''

Many of us were not aware of Bill Gates and his plans for the global community before the coronavirus pandemic.

Gates has made headlines in the past several months and his vaccine agenda for the human race has been exposed.

Gates on the Covid-19 vaccine: "You Don't Have A Choice"

Ginger Taylor
Bill Gates speaking to The Financial Times on April 8, 2020 about the Covid-19 vaccine:

You Don't Have A Choice + Premiered on 20 Apr 2020

"But you don't have a choice. People act like you have a choice. People don't feel like going to the stadium when they might get infected. You know, it's not the government who's saying OK, just ignore this disease, and people are deeply affected by seeing these deaths, by knowing they could be part of the transmission chain, and old people, their parents, their grandparents could be affected by this. And so you don't get to say, ignore what's going on here. There will be the ability, particularly in rich countries, to open up if things are done well over the next few months. But for the world at large, normalcy only returns when we've largely vaccinated the entire global population."

Monsanto fined $1.5m for bribery

Last Updated: Friday, 7 January, 2005, 06:22 GMT

The US agrochemical giant Monsanto has agreed to pay a $1.5m (£799,000) fine for bribing an Indonesian official.

Monsanto admitted one of its employees paid the senior official two years ago in a bid to avoid environmental impact studies being conducted on its cotton. In addition to the penalty, Monsanto also agreed to three years' close monitoring of its business practices by the American authorities. It said it accepted full responsibility for what it called improper activities.

A former senior manager at Monsanto directed an Indonesian consulting firm to give a $50,000 bribe to a high-level official in Indonesia's environment ministry in 2002.

In other words, we humans end up by destroying everything!

As Milton Friedman said:

'If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there'd be a shortage of sand."
