"It's all a setup for the rest of the story, when presumably the dinosaurs start feasting on the character actors."

Funniest thing Jess has written so far!

Is Extinction Agenda related to Extinction Event? I can't keep track of what's out anymore.

If you ask me, she'll never better her interview with Felicia. ;)

Is there some reason no one answers this one, from the thread?

"What is the official position of THE PULSE on the journalistic propriety of deceiving readers?"

It's an albatross you guys aren't going to lose until you address it.

They LIKE the buzz. I would think you would know ALL about that. :)

But your buzz is open and direct. About giving information to cause excitement rather than sitting silent.

For the record, the "brother" who knows everything, the focus on "single issue stories" and "every story is someone's first" bits of the "reviews" smell to me. It is obviously faked.

They could, at least, give detail about the nature of the internship. Her responsibilies? Where does she work? Is she paid? Did they post a notice about upcoming interships on the site? How did she find out about the internship (other than her brother told her about it)? Are there other interns?

It does not add up.

That's the difference. I spend most of my day by anticipating criticism and addressing it before it comes up, and by not ignoring it when it does. :)

Why does everyone think that Jess is a she? I've stated several times that it's a guy.

For the record, Jess' dad, Edwin Coaster, writes for VANITY FAIR, and before coming to the PULSE, Jess was an intern for Joe Bob Briggs. And I have to thank the Onion's Jean Teasdale for recommending Jess.

Jess writes like a girl, though. Luckily, this would be the easiest sex change operation in comics industry history -- although in keeping with tradition, his name should become Jess Jemon first.

It would have been cute for you to have done the Remington Steele thing at San Diego and had Jess take your place on the Comics Reviewer panel. And holy crap could the name of that show scan more like the name of a dildo? Sorry, it's late. Anyway, then the guy from Naval Intelligence or whatever could eventually start posting his own reviews and you could have wacky adventures and sexual tension. Although I think this would make Jen Contino the Doris Roberts character, and I'm not sure she'd go for that.
