HI Folks,

This is my first attempt at a new recipe....Pork Chop bake.

In a large deep baking dish layer with diced potato and mix in finely chopped onion.

Pour over a can of mushroom soup.

Brown a pork chop in a frying pan and place in baking dish.

Bake in the oven at 180C=350F aprox for an hour or until the potato is cooked.

Serve with a green vegetable.

Will update with how it tastes later.

Regards edtNZ

UPDATE: Dinner was lovely but could have been cooked longer.

I gave it an hour 10 mins in the oven but it could have been cooked another 10 to 15 mins longer.

The concentated mushroom soup was ok in the end but normal mushroom soup would have been better.

All in all not a bad first attempt.

Good enough to feed my brother next time he is home.

Regards edtNZ.

Second attempt... for brother and me

Basically the same recipe as the first, with concentated mushrrom soup ( no choice) diluted with a cup of milk whisked in.

A teaspoon of crushed garlic and a heavy sprinkle of rosemary added to the potato/onion mix.

Pork chops were well cooked and tender. Served with baby minted peas. Brother went back for " seconds" and ate all the leftover potatoes.

Will make this recipe again. Might try it with lamb shoulder chops.
