I was just watching The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson and the Ultragorgon scene remains one of the all-time highlights of any Henson production.

He was good in everything... He wasn't a big star, but I was always happy to see him in stuff.  Including Monster Maker, of course.

The Don Rickles doc MR. WARMTH opens with Harry Dean Stanton playing the harmonica. They were both in KELLY'S HEROES of course, but that opening choice amused me considerably.

I totally forgot he was in Monster Maker as I haven't seen it since I think Nickelodeon ran it in the mid 90s, and I stupidly never recorded it, so never owned a copy. As a big Twin Peaks fan, I will miss his character in that universe. But yeah he's done so much stuff. My husband pointed out the other day he also played Bruce Willis' father in the film "Alpha Dog" which I also forgot about.

Today I learned that the guy who keeps his cool while chemicals are close to eating half the country while Superman froze a lake in Superman III is the same guy whose whimper was so hated by his Skeksis peers. Good on ya, mate.

Aww.  He did great work on that movie... When I rewatched it recently, I kept thinking how much he and Michael Kilgarriff (the Garthim Master) and Billie Whitelaw (Aughra) add to the film.
