Decided to pull out my original Playstation games for a bit of fun and I've been playing Muppet RaceMania a lot the last weekend.  Looking at the stats for the different vehicles, and I'm noticing that Zoot's car is much better than the other characters'.  I'm really curious about the game designer that decided to make Zoot the best character instead of someone like Kermit or Animal.

Also, am I the only one that's really awful at this game.  Even with Zoot I can't win a race.  I'm really terrible at this, which is funny because it's my favorite video game, and my friends never want to play it with me because they assume I'd be an expert at this game.

I didn't play the game much, but I recall it having a steep learning curve due to some wonky controls.

Yeah, I was starting to figure out that at least part of that was due to the fact that the two of the three stats the cars get are handling and wheel grip, so even if a character can turn easily, they still may slide all over the place.  Most of the characters that are good in both of those are pretty slow, like Fozzie.  Except Zoot apparently.  And Bunsen is terrible.  You'd think science could build a better vehicle.

This is made even better by Bunsen looking towards the camera as if to say "There. Happy now?"

I've heard that in many of these racing games the stats are bogus. All the cars are exactly the same. They just want to give the players the illusion of choice.

What?! Don't tell me the Cheep-Cheep is exactly the same as the Baby Carriage in Mario Kart!

For some reason, no matter how many exhaustive hours I spent on Muppet Race Mania, I couldnt beat the final levels. I do love the Fraggle Rock bonus level.

I never played that Muppet Cruise game from 2002, but I did hear Digit was in it. I still love Muppet Pinball for Game Boy Advance, but was only so so on the other 2 Muppet GBA games(tho still cool we got 3 Muppet games for the handheld) Sadly not a single Muppet game for the DS or 3DS.

I even have the old NES and Game Boy Color Muppet games, but still to this day the 1996 Muppets Inside CD-Rom is still my favorite out of all of those

20 years browsing Muppet online fansites, I got a few random thoughts

1) Why does everyone in the public(and makers of merch) keep thinking Beaker's signature speak is "Meep! Meep!", when it's Meeeee in various forms. Sometimes  Meee Meee Moo. This seems like the same normie mindset that refers to The Muppets as "Fonzie, Ralph, the two old guys and Elmo".

2) What is the obsession with "Dear Disney, please release TMS Seasons 4 and 5". You know they never will. Maybe slightly better odds than a home release of Muppets Tonight, Jim Henson Hour's Muppets TV segments and Muppet Babies. But I cant see it happening. At this point I think Disney won't release it out of spite. Heck Disney refuses to release anything Muppet on dvd, other than the first and third films. Wish Sony/Columbia had the rights to everything Muppets.

3) How come we rarely ever see Muppet merchandise in stores? I cant go two feet without seeing annoying Funko pops, Minions, Five Nights At Freddys, Overwatch, Game of Thrones, Cars, Trolls, ect merch. But Muppets? I see Sesame Babies stuff everywhere if that counts. Can we ever see a Big Mean Carl plush?

4) What is the source of Piggy's deep animosity toward Gonzo? In the recent press junket for the Hollywood Bowl, Piggy implies some insanely harsh ill will toward Gonzo. Not counting Muppet Babies as canon, is there something from TMS that originated this hatred. Or is it a mystery ala Michael Scott deep hate of Toby in The Office?

Finally

5) What is with the digital rod removal? I mean might as well make the Muppets motion capture cg over live action ala Garfield or Smiegel if they want people to think the Muppets arent puppets

I take Piggy's hatred of Gonzo as unexplainable jealousy.  I have almost no empirical basis for this statement; it's just a feeling.
