Grand Canyon National Park

Located in Arizona, Grand Canyon National Park encompasses 277 miles (446 km) of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. The immense Grand Canyon is a mile (1.6 km) deep, and up to 18 miles (29 km) wide. Layered bands of colorful rock reveal millions of years of geologic history with unmatched vistas from the rim. The South Rim is open 24 hours. The North Rim is Closed for the Winter.

South Rim

Lodging Inside the park
South Rim lodging is available all year, and books up well in advance, especially during spring break, summer months, and fall weekends.

Reservations are recommended.

Most lodges in Grand Canyon Village are within walking distance of the canyon rim.

Reservations are handled by Delaware North and Xanterra Parks & Resorts.

North Rim Lodging

• Grand Canyon Lodge is CLOSED FOR THE WINTER
• Grand Canyon Lodge provides the only lodging inside the National Park on the North Rim.
• Lodging is booked well in advance, so make 2022 reservations as far ahead as possible.
• Lodging is available between May 15, and October 15, each year.

• National Park Service Campgrounds

  Advance campground reservations can be made for all 3 NPS campgrounds within Grand Canyon National Park. Advance reservations are now required at Desert View Campground.

• Mather Campground on the South Rim, located in Grand Canyon Village, is Open All Year
• Desert View Campground CLOSED FOR THE WINTER. The campground is located on the South Rim, 23 miles (37 km) east of Grand Canyon Village, Open mid-April through mid-October. Reservations are required for the 2022 season.
• North Rim Campground CLOSED FOR THE WINTER. The campground is Open May 15 through October 31 each year.

• Reservations for Mather Campground, Desert View Campground, and the North Rim Campground, are made through the National Recreation Reservation Service by calling 1-877-444-6777 or online through Recreation.gov for:
