It’s time to change out the brake pads on my 2004 V Star 1100 Classic. There are a bunch of options out there. I was hoping there may be some consensus on which ones are best. Thanks in advance.

OEM seem perfectly adequate for anything this bike is capable of.

Thanks.  Just want to make sure I am getting what I really need.

Whatever you get, ... you'll want "Organic pads" Sintered pads are much more abrasive on the rotors!

I'd rather change pads a little more often than replace Rotors.  (I use EBC Organic)

 My 2 cents

Thanks for that information.  Something I did not know.

I also used the same ... EBC Organic ... good price and great stopping and they lasted pretty good.

Some Pads are not compatible with some rotors, so be clear what type of rotor you have.

Organic brake pads are best for cast iron, steel or stainless steel rotors. Whereas, ceramic brake pads will be gentle enough for chrome-plated or polished aluminum alloy rotors which would be destroyed by harder pads.

Isn't really relevant to a V Star owner now though, is it? Sort of over salting the broth. (: ))

Depends if you have custom work done like on a show bike I once had.
