Hey all,

Looking for quality carb rebuild kits for my 1100 classic. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Mongo

we don't recommend carb kits... pull them ... clean and replace the o rings .. clean the jets.. CHECK the float level.. make sure everything is working properly .. reassemble ... bench sync carb before reinstalling.. then sync when installed..

Agreed, but looking for an o-ring kit to have on the bench so it’s not a scramble to locate odd ones like a bowl, etc., when they are dead flat or brittle. Waiting on Yamaha to order a pile of $5 o-rings is preferably avoided.

I found several online and ordered some last night. I was hoping there were recommendations.

is there a link to a ‘bench sync’ process? I usually sync on the bike. (Update: never mind, I found the maintenance section)

I just do it by eye.. then install fire her up ... let it warm up ... then sync. https://sites.google.com/site/vstar1100kb/home

Thanks. Yeah, I forget how simple these things can be.

I’ve been through these carbs multiple times since 2003, but it’s been six years since they were run  and definitely needing a full tear down.

Refreshing the memories is the fun part.
