No real mystery whoever installed the ORK lost the gasket and probably over tightened the cap nuts on the studs and they went undisturbed for all those miles.

WTH?! Bought new gaskets specific to my bike......don't fit! The inside diameter of the gaskets match the inside diameter of the head pipe, not the sealing flange!
Went to Autozone and picked up the FelPro #23588's that other riders have used.........same situation! There is no way they are fitting into the pipe to reach the sealing area of the pipe. I have attached a pic to ponder!
This bike (except for the ORC) was bone stock when I bought it back in 2000, and all I have done to the exhaust is install Jardine slash cut slipons, which does not alter the head pipes.

If that's your rear cylinder it takes a different/smaller one. That one fits into the head like in front but not the header in the rear. Most sellers are either unaware or unconcerned. I did find a set that included everything I needed and more but I'm not sure where. I think it may have been some Europeans on E-bay.

RIGHT YOU ARE! I found this out today when I finally went to the front cylinder and the gasket fit right in. Sadly, I will have to go to the dealer and pay 3 X what I paid for the pair jus to buy the one!
THANKS EVERYONE!!
