high voltage signal wire is most likely a wire tapped into one of the plug wires...
so I would have to "splice" a plug`s wire to get that high voltage ?
I think all you have to do is wrap that wire around the plug wire. I would not splice it in.
Some of the old and cheapie tachs required you to attach the wire to the spark plug terminal....basically removing the metal tip and crimping another one on with the tach wire included. On an 1100 that'll be fun because it's a special tip.
More modern better quality tachs just let you wrap the signal wire around the plug wire.....
What if I just twist it around the tip of the spark plug and put the connector back in ?
would it be a fire hazard ?
Well....you could try that I guess. Sure wish you had some instructions....
Remember if it isn't for a dual fire system it will probably give false readings or not work at all.
My question will probably sound dumb, but what's the difference between a single or dual fire system,
if one coil gives 1500 rpm, the other coil gives at 1500 RPM as well yes ?
so why would the readout be false.
My (car) mechanic mind doesn't grasp this principle
It is called a wasted spark since it fires on the exhaust stroke as well.
