Hi,
Bought a 2000 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic brand new. Saw it at the Yamaha tent at Daytona Bike week after taking a lot of test rides. Best bike I ever owned. There's one downside though. It's a bit difficult to check the oil so I bought this:
https://qwikview1100.weebly.com/ (You might have to copy and paste.)
It makes checking the oil level easy. The website is still up so I assume this item is still available. It's definitely worth the money. (Disclamer - I do not receive any compensation from QuikView).
Have fun!

It is a good device, although with he popularity of the cellphones - kind of 'un-necessary' IMHO. It's enough to level the bike off - bend a little with the iPhone in the left hand and shoot a flash photo below the board. There is no guessing, nor 'low light condition'.

What you posted is certainly one way to check the oil level. However, with the QuikView you can stay seated on the bike and keep both feet on the ground while you look at the mirror. At night you can easily point a small flashlight at the QuikView mirror to check the oil level. I did it numerous times.
BTW, In a ten month wonderful period spanning 2004 and 2005 I put 30,000+ miles on my V-Star.
Thanks for responding to my post.

I was wondering where it went, just put it back when you're done with it....
