It is so awesome that this miracle horse not only was saved but has sired some nice horses as well.

Whenever I get down about some of the horrible fatalities that occur on the track I think of The Player and how his owner did everything possible to save his beloved horse and somehow the vets were able to save him- He looks wonderful from the pics on Facebook!!!!

Yes, Angus is thriving! Videos show him with barely a hitch on that leg. But he is an exceptional horse, knows how to take care of himself. And yes, First Player is in my Equibase VS!

I have to say I am surprised- I thought he would be retired- but I trust Bill Mott, a true horseman. I believe this horse was horribly mismanaged: Best thing ever happened to him was getting a new trainer- especially a trainer of the quality of Bill Mott.
