 Agreed with the article; very well written: the issue really is do they (American trainers and owners) want to learn

from experiences across the pond: I doubt it; here in America we want quick results-- they simply lack patience ---  and I  do not think that will change anytime soon. unfortunately.

Sadly, impatience is one of the pretty entrenched features of American culture.  There are lots of positives about American culture- optimism, can-do attitude, improvisation and ingenuity, but impatience is one of the big negatives.  The Asians, Europeans, and Africans pretty much shake their heads about this U.S. cultural feature. That said, most people only change when they are 1) forced to or 2) the pain of where they are is greater than the fear of what might be.  Most likely, change will have to be enacted by a governing agency.
