Yes, I read that. I believe all horses coming off a vet list need to have scans on their legs.

I remember the article about how devastated New York Thunder's trainer was after the horrible spill-- I felt bad for him- Now I am thinking if he acted responsibly this horse would be alive

I hated reading this article, this horse obviously had a big problem brewing and it was just a matter of time. Shame on the trainer and owners.
 

I think joint injections means no race for 30 to 60 days. Maybe mandatory scans prior to the injection? To make sure it’s not something bigger brewing.

I imagine a necropsy will be done and they will look to see if the horse was recently injected with  a steroid

removed incorrect info about this mare.  Had her circumstances mixed up with those of Border Run

Bless this lovely horse who certainly defied the odds and lived to a grand old age.
