Prayers for Megan and my condolences to Megan and Coty’s family. Horrible accident.
Trainer Coty Davidson was killed early Friday in central Florida in a single-vehicle wreck in which his passenger, jockey Megan Fadlovich, was reported to be seriously injured.

Only Veterinarian’s can administer drugs on the backstretch so how is it that these three runners received bute and banamine?
Florida-based trainer Georgina Baxter has been suspended 25 days and hit with a $7,500 fine after three of her horses tested positive for two non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, according to a report in the Daily Racing Form. why didn’t they disqualify the horses since it was a violation?
Side note- do trainers have insurance which would pay their fines, or are all these right out of their pocket?

Trainers are not allowed to be in possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia. If they did a search of her barn and found these items it’s a heftier fine.
I am not sure why the horses not taken down.
Insurance would not pay for this it out of her own pocket.

California is going to honor the suspension and I agree it is excessive. Smith is working on an appeal we will see what happens.
