Street Cry Colt Commands Seven-Figure Price

A Street Cry half brother to three-time Melbourne Cup (Aust-I) winner Makybe Diva topped the third and final day of session one of the William Inglis & Son Easter yearling sale in Australia. Trainer Peter Moody purchased the brown colt for Aust$1.2 million ($1,234,310 in U.S. funds) from Tony Santic’s Makybe operation April 12.

The problem is, Amy, that it is difficult to compartmentalise racing as it gets more and more international. So although it is fine to have a thread for the Aussies, I can't see how it can be entirely contained here. The horse bolted a long time ago, so to speak.

What a cutie! Still crying here when I think of her taking that one last look at him, to make sure he was okay, and then passing peacefully....just not fair.......I'm gald he seems to have bonded with his new mommy......hope he fullfills his momma's promise on the racecourse.

It is very sad, but he will have his mom's spirit looking over him and I hope he is a good one for her.
