Valuable colt All Too Hard will have to overcome a wide barrier if he’s to win his third Group One race on the trot in Saturday’s Australian Guineas.
The star three-year-old has come up with barrier 14 for the 1600m feature at Flemington after a full field of 16 and one emergency was declared on Wednesday.
All Too Hard is striving to add the $500,000 Australian Guineas to his Caulfield Guineas triumph in the spring.

Hay List continued his measured progress towards a return to the race track on Wednesday with race jockey Glyn Schofield riding the sprinter in light work at Gosford for trainer John McNair.
Hay List is returning from a knee injury that threatened to finally end the career of the outstanding sprinter who has been the only true test for world champion Black Caviar when they have met in races such as the 2011 Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes over 1200m at Randwick and 2012 Group 1 Lightning Stakes over 1000m at Flemington.

All Too Hard will stay in Melbourne until close to the race and will barrier trial at least once into the race. Royal Ascot is a goer.

Ah, that's exciting. I'm glad ATH goes to Ascot and Caviar stays home. Let the young 'un go.

ALL Too Hard is set to race on with connections today announcing there were no immediate plans to retire the $25 million colt.
Owners had been weighing up the future of All Too Hard, a half brother to Black Caviar, after the star three year old's race-morning scratching from the Australian Guineas.
