A nuclear scan means no training for 3 or 4 days. The horse is injected with radioactive isotopes and sedated for the scan. They are then radioactive for 24 to 48 hours till their body expels the product. It is not something that is utilized on sound horses.

I doubt it unless he was having issues, he has been in Australia for over a year.

Why? He has been in Australia and has been training and racing for the past year. He didn’t just ship over last week.

You can’t scan every horse. It needs to be reserved for those that are experiencing issues that you can’t find a reason for.
These breakdowns are not always because of any underlying issue, sometimes it is a bad step or an unseen issue in the track surface.
