Those knees up to the eyeballs, is just what a hunter/jumper/eventer looks for too! I say for most of these OTTB's, put them in a jump chute and see if they like to jump! This is a great program, kudo's to them for doing this!

This is a good move!!


The Jockey Club has amended Rule 18 of the Principal Rules and Requirements of The American Stud Book from "Sold Without Pedigree" to "Sold as Retired from Racing" so an owner can retire a Thoroughbred from racing without affecting its breeding privileges, it was announced Feb. 27.

Under the previous Rule 18, the Certificate of Foal Registration for a horse sold without pedigree was returned to The Jockey Club and canceled, and the horse was no longer considered a Thoroughbred for breeding or racing purposes.

Chef and racehorse owner Bobby Flay has been selected as the recipient of the Earle I. Mack Thoroughbred Champion Award, annually given to an individual for outstanding efforts and influence on Thoroughbred racehorse welfare, safety, and retirement.

Twitter enhances fan experience

According to Kelly Wietsma, whose public relations firm Equisponse works with well-known racing outfits like Starlight Racing, in many cases fans are getting information via Twitter "straight from the horse's mouth."

"Someone running that account who is in the barn, around the horse every day, is going to be able to offer a very well-informed connection," Wietsma said.
