What an incredible task that Santa Anita took on, I wonder if they will have people monitoring the screens as well 24-7?
Santa Anita Park has developed and installed a state-of-the-art video surveillance system that enables close monitoring of the track's entire stable area on a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week basis. The new surveillance project, the most comprehensive system at any North American race track, is now fully operational in conjunction with opening day of Santa Anita's 2016 fall meet Sept.

I would hope so otherwise it's a moot point if something happens?! With silicone valley out there, this should have happened earlier, in my opinion.:) Lets hope there isn't a power outage!

This is a great step forward in KY!!
As many of you know, the case of abused and abandoned horses belonging to the Borells brought to light problems that exist in Kentucky that hinder getting proper help for these horses. One problem is that the current laws don't properly protect horses, so Fox Hill Farm hired an attorney who is working toward getting these laws changed.
A second problem is that there is no place to house and care for horses who are in the midst of abuse investigations.

There are enough transportation companies and vets in KY, that I do not think these are issues. The big problem is a place to keep them till the courts release them.

They are looking at farms and hope to have a farm identified next month for horses to go to.

I love reading about this auction and it's support for TCA
More than 250 supporters of Thoroughbred Charities of America bundled up against the subfreezing temperatures to make a strong showing at the non-profit's 27th Annual Stallion Seasons auction Dec. 7 at Keeneland. The TCA's single largest fundraiser of the year included an online season auction held Jan. 2-6, and then on Dec.

Great job by Maker's Mark Secretariat Center!!
In 2016, the Maker's Mark Secretariat Center in Lexington, KY, celebrated a record number of Thoroughbreds who were re-trained and adopted through its non-profit program. The year's total of 62 re-homed off-track Thoroughbreds is an organization record. "Thoroughbreds are timeless; they have reigned supreme in equestrian sports," said MMSC Director Susanna Thomas.
