Sadly, Border Run recently passed away

Thank you for letting me know.  Had not seen this publicized anywhere.  What an amazing long life and his last years were with people who truly treasured him.  Rest in Peace Border Run.

Glad you provided a link to the story by Patricia McQueen.  I had just  googled Border Run and read it.  Almost added a Happy Birthday to Man 'o War to the first response, but will add it now.

Citation is an all time great but I think sometimes his greatness was not recognized as much as it should have been because the amazing Secretariat came along  25 years later  and Citation somehow got lost in the shuffle. There is an apartment complex near my home which is called "Citation Apartments"- so I know that person loved and appreciated him!
