Hey - try to find a replay for 2yo Sky Lantern's win - absolutely amazing accelerations on this filly and they may bring her to Breeder's Cup but would have to pay a supplemental - well, maybe they will. Picture of this grey girl in the article. I love her name.
She really powered home....
Racing gambles take many forms and a successful punt here yesterday had nothing to do with the betting ring. Hong Kong-based owner Ben Keswick paid a late entry fee of €22,000 (£17,500) to run his Sky Lantern in the Moyglare Stud Stakes, Ireland's top contest for juvenile fillies, despite her having been beaten twice at a much lower level. And his faith in the judgement of trainer Richard Hannon was gloriously justified as the grey romped home.
eta - win and you're in so no supplemental: Europe: Sky Lantern earns fees-paid berth in Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf after Moyglare Stud Stakes win

“The options can be put into various packages. The European package is the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe, the Prix De L’Opera or the Champion Stakes, in which a certain Frankel runs.
“The American package is either the Fillies And Mares’ or the Turf at the Breeders’ Cup and then there is the Far Eastern package, which would be the Japan Cup or Hong Kong. Potentially, she could have one run in Europe, one in America and one in the Far East. It depends on all sorts of things and she could well even stay in training.”

Quite a kick on that filly. Looks like we will be seeing some top runners from Europe this year at BC.
And to your previous post, they are very sporting with Snow Fairy given all she's been through. Taking on the best of the colts, it's very exciting but I can see why they hold their breath every time they do it. Hoping she stays sound but what an acheivement for her trainer to bring her back so competitively from a tendon injury...and set a track record doing it.
