Woohoo! Cacahuete gate to wire at Belterra!!!

Cacahuete wins once more at Belterra just now.  Led almost all the time and won by about 3/4 length or so.  This was an allowance race.

He did awesome!!! His trainer is spotting his races accurately!

Our messages must have crossed just now.  Am trying to monitor the races I want to see and also enjoy some of the breed judging at Westminster on Fox.  Don't want to have to watch anything later so that I may see the first night of Group judging at a leisurely pace.  Yesterday was herding and hounds which are my favorites  (collies, Scottish Deerhounds, Wolfhounds, Azawakh, etc.  Actually had an Azawakh at my house some yrs. ago;  he belonged to a permanent houseguest of mine.  Also should mention shelties since I have had four of them inc. one champion who was given to me.  Plus many other dogs through the yrs.  

The Fox announcer selected to be with the two judges who are providing commentary has asked just as many stupid questions as Joe Garagiola used to do at Westminster when he was a network commentator.  Amy will remember him  (the movie  "Best in Show"  had a similar announcer as one of the hilarious characters).

My friend is irritated by one of the announcers during the Stanley Cup finals right now, too.  The coaches are being questioned during play and the screen is split so there is less visible play.  Terrible idea.

I’ll watch the dog show later. Just home from taking my d-I-l and kids grocery shopping. But I’m with you on announcers. I listen to my beloved Cubs on the radio whenever they’re on national tv as those guys stink! But I guess, because we know/understand dogs, it seems ridiculous . But there are people who watch that are just like those type of announcers and can understand where they’re coming , so I’m sure they’ll stay.:(

The announcers irritate me at times. I know they are trying to make it so that the non dog person can watch and learn but sometimes I think really?

Yay! Stosh just won at Fan Duel, only to other horses in race….. but a win is a win!

That is true.  I see he was bumped  after the break, so he did have to overcome that.  I didn't see the race, just read the equibase results message.  Good for him!

He just stayed back a bit after the bump, but came roaring around the turn and never looked back-he did great!
