Lana finished 2nd tonight at Penn, so the kids are coming ‘round.

Found a Nicanor granddaughter just now.  Kilimanjara is by Air Force Blue x Nic's dau. Fleagle Kowski.  She is a three yr. old and runs Sat. at Laurel, 9th race at 4:56 pm.  Apparently she has had one win in two starts already, at least according to pedigree query.  Owner is Tom Rooney's dau. Theresa Rooney Meis, which makes sense since Nicanor stood at Shamrock Farm owned by the Rooneys.  Hope she has a successful race Saturday and safe day for all racers.

Got notification that Fleagle's filly Kilimanjara is entered at Penn Natl. on June 30 in Race 2.  Hope she does well.

Me too!

what did you think of Westminster winner? He is the most attractive bloodhound I’ve ever seen! Great bone to muscle ratio, awesome coloring, confident stride. Although, I thought his wrinkling around face/ears a bit light?

I thought the Bloodhound, Trumpet,  was well-balanced.  Am used to seeing more wrinkling but the handler didn't pull the skin forward to accentuate it either.  In this age of animal rights types I do believe it is good to breed for moderation rather than exaggeration in all breeds.  Don't get me started on one of my breeds, the collie, or German Shepherds for that matter.  I was fortunate to see Hatter in person at a show in SC and he was so moderate compared to what I expected he would be.  I was amazed.

I did become weary of all the promotion for the Fr. Bulldog, Winston, in this past year.  Amazing how popular they are lately, much as it was around the 20's or 30's I believe.

I think the Frenchies are popular as they are more family interactive than toys and “purse” dogs? I think they are a healthier breed too?

(I had to giggle during the working group, with the malamute voicing his thoughts while other dogs went through their paces- it is a dog show after all)

Kilimanjara finished 6th today, race was a mile and sixteenth, so maybe a bit too long for her?

Saw the Equibase results and notes said  "tired."  Oh well, perhaps she will improve as she runs more.  She ran on June 18 and again June 30 so I don't mean more frequently, just as she becomes more seasoned.  Surely hope she can win some.
