They have developed a way to have a mare lactate but not by having a foal at the time, great news for orphan foals!

Good article.  I've never read much about the sesamoids and that's odd as these fractures happen a lot.  Marty was retired due to a fractured sesamoid.  Luckily he had a breeder/owner who took him back to the farm to heal for a year.
