I’m sure they’ll try, but CDI is asserting its own rules for accountability.

This from DRF article on being able to ban

The prohibition, which will prevent Baffert from running in the Derby until at least 2024, is being enacted under the company’s power of exclusion, a right given to private businesses so long as the bans do not violate protected rights, such as age, sex, or race. Racing licensees have challenged such bans in the past in civil courts with a mixed record of success.

I wonder what that Hollendorfer thing was all about, we never heard. I know some owners moved horses, and he’s racing everywhere except CA. Maybe an issue with CA board?

I’m not looking forward to the telecast now that the split sample has shown positive...

But Baffert only had 2 positive drug tests (at CDI tracks) on a substance that is a therapeutic and tested At a

very low level. CDI cannot and should not take into account any other positive results from other jurisdictions. Which by the way Baffert was exhorted on.
This is a witch hunt for some reason.

Ugh, I didn’t think about how it would affect the TV coverage this week.  I’m sure we’ll hear lots about it.

I was pretty surprised when I saw the headline.   I did want to see some disciplinary action taken, wasn’t expecting this though.

Not sure what I think about it yet.

I so agree- I am appalled at the level of punishment and do consider this to be a witch hunt. There are lots of people who don't understand the difference in therapeutics from banned substances, who think he "doped" the horse.

It seems as though they are making a precedent of Baffert, much like Martha Stewart was when she was sent to prison for insider trading(?). Although, I do find it ironic that Churchill is the one to be doing this after what seems their lack of interest in horse racing is doing to Illinois.

It will be interesting to see what New York, and other tracks do in regards to Baffert.
