Ugh, I didn’t think about how it would affect the TV coverage this week. I’m sure we’ll hear lots about it.
I was pretty surprised when I saw the headline. I did want to see some disciplinary action taken, wasn’t expecting this though.
Not sure what I think about it yet.

I so agree- I am appalled at the level of punishment and do consider this to be a witch hunt. There are lots of people who don't understand the difference in therapeutics from banned substances, who think he "doped" the horse.

It seems as though they are making a precedent of Baffert, much like Martha Stewart was when she was sent to prison for insider trading(?). Although, I do find it ironic that Churchill is the one to be doing this after what seems their lack of interest in horse racing is doing to Illinois.

It will be interesting to see what New York, and other tracks do in regards to Baffert.

I am waiting to see how the KHRC responds. That could have huge consequences. Although I do think Baffert is going to be hurting from the CDI suspension and I kind of doubt he’ll be able to overturn it.

You make a good point about Churchill perhaps making a precedent of Baffert----

Making a precedent because of repeated recent positives but what hurt CDI more, I think, is that Baffert tarnished their flagship race. He screwed up and it was the Kentucky Derby.
