Why are we just now hearing about this?
The New York Times is reporting that Forte (Violence), the Kentucky Derby favorite who was scratched on the morning of the race with a bruised right front hoof, failed a drug test after his win in last September's Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga. Forte won the Hopeful by three lengths over a muddy track at odds

Woah. That is a big surprise. Thank you for linking this NYT article.
Did you like last nights Corgi at WKC? I must say, after watching Collie breed judging online and then the group last night, I do think that collie is really beautiful. I am not familiar with him and none of my friends showed at WKC; collie people are much more into the National Spec. than WKC. I believe the Poodle Nationals were the weekend before WKC, so many quality poodles were there since they were in PA over that time period. Was nice to see Tom Coen judging. He used to handle lots of collies along with his wife Nioma. His shelties were amazing dogs.

I do like the corgi that won at Westminster, she is bread and owned by a friend and she is deserving of the win.
Poodle Nationals was held outside of St Louis. I am not sure about the Westminster winner.

Don't know why I thought PCA was in NJ recently. Just don't keep up with them anymore, obviously. Congratulations to your friend for the great win at WKC. Well done!

It may have been a Poodle Specialty prior to Westminster.
I knew they had their National at Purina (outside of St Louis) because Standards were judged by Bill Shelton (my corgi mentor)

Bill Shelton as mentor, wow.
Wondered when someone on this forum would mention that Eric Reid (sp) and Rich Strike's owner have parted ways. Twitter says due to something like media disagreement. Don't know what happened with them. Unfortunate, though.

4 years ago I moved from Wisconsin to Southern Missouri to be Bill’s kennel manager. I have the distinct pleasure of helping raise his corgis.

Where did you see the split of Reid and Rich Strikes owner?
I am sure the owner wants RS to win again and that is prompting the move to another trainer. (Just like Mine that Bird)
