Ok I am starting this thread for a discussion about the potential winners for this years Eclipse awards as the ballots will be sent out to the voters shortly.

Older Male
Flightline ran 3 times and won 3 times this year all Grade 1’s
Life is Good ran 6 times won 4 races 3 Grade 1’s, 1 Grade 2
lost to Flightline in the Classic.
Who do you say is older male?
If I was voting it would be Life is Good because he did more. Yes he was beaten by Flightline but I think he was beating better horses all year.

I agree with Jay on much of this. I truly believe Flightline should not be Horse of the Year!

A year-end look at who bred, sired, sold, trained, and rode the 79 horses who won the 105 Grade 1 Thoroughbred races in North America in 2022.
