I am so saddened by this news. Jess Jackson will be greatly missed in the sport. A true sportsman. Prayer for his family.
Rachel's future foal in my mind will always bring thoughts of the man who dared to dream of it's promise.

Likewise, very sad to learn of Mr. Jackson's passing. He loved the sport, and was so proud of both Curlin and Rachel.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I saw this on bloodhorse.com
Very sad news, I am sorry he didn't get to see the first foal born. It was a good life and an exicting one, and he did much for horse racing, though maybe not always the most popular choices. I liked the grumpy old bugger. RIP and here's hoping his widow hold onto the horses.

I wonder if they will name the foal after JJ? Jesse Alexander - Curlin Jackson - its a possibility.

Very sad. I, too, am sorry he didn't live to see the Rachel/Curlin foal. Although I knew his age and illness, he never looked or acted 81 or sick. I am glad he had a good life and a good death. His death will be difficult for his survivors. RIP, Mr. Jackson.
