When Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas wins a horse race, he does something with little fanfare that leaves a strong impression, and it was no different yesterday when his 2-year-old filly Broken Spell rallied to break her maiden in the fifth race on the turf at Saratoga.

That is a GREAT story!!!  What a wonderful thing for him to do.  What great memories all those kids will have because of that kind gesture.  Kudos to Mr. Lukas for being so thoughtful and gracious.

Yes it is a great story and I think things like this need to be brought out to show some of the good things in racing.

Love it!  Good for Lukas - something so simple, so cheap, yet leaves such a lasting impact on the kid and their family.  :-)

Those knees up to the eyeballs, is just what a hunter/jumper/eventer looks for too! I say for most of these OTTB's, put them in a jump chute and see if they like to jump! This is a great program, kudo's to them for doing this!
