Quite a kick on that filly.  Looks like we will be seeing some top runners from Europe this year at BC.

And to your previous post, they are very sporting with Snow Fairy given all she's been through.    Taking on the best of the colts, it's very exciting but I can see why they hold their breath every time they do it.  Hoping she stays sound but what an acheivement for her trainer to bring her back so competitively from a tendon injury...and set a track record doing it.

Agreed.  Both fillies are very nice.  Mares and fillies have just been so outstanding the past several years - it's nice that girls are getting their due ;-)

Very excited about Camelot and looking forward to his bid for history.  Interesting comment about the heart/lung capacity.  Thx!

The excitement builds...

Camelot stars in commercial ahead of his Triple Crown bid

To mark his quest for the historic Triple Crown, Camelot has joined the mighty Frankel as only the second thoroughbred to have his own TV commercial.

We sent Sean Boyce to Ballydoyle to film a feature on the season's leading 3yo. Includes interviews with Aidan O'Brien.

Marian - I saw your post on the Horses We Like thread about the name - here is more info.....Camelot goes for the Triple Crown tomorrow morning 10:40 am (eastern) on both TVG & HRTV.

Magnier's wife, Sue, is the daughter of Vincent O'Brien, who trained Nijinsky. She names all the horses at the Ballydoyle yard where Nijinsky was trained, and registered Camelot – "a mythical name", as Aidan O'Brien, his trainer, put it this week – 10 years ago, to wait for a horse good enough to carry it.

When the son of Montjeu arrived at O'Brien's stable two years ago, they sensed that the right one had arrived. Montjeu himself died not long afterwards, leaving a gap at the Coolmore Stud which Camelot himself will eventually try to fill.
