Thanks for posting that! The colt is gorgeous and seems like quite a character. Good for Finley for getting in on him.

An immaculately put-together colt by Curlin descending from one of the premier families in the studbook was hammered down for $3.65 million as the Fasig-Tipton Florida Sale neared its conclusion Wednesday afternoon. Donato Lanni and Jamie McCalmont reportedly signed the ticket on behalf of Coolmore and an undisclosed partnership, but he will reportedly be trained by Bob Baffert.

I saw some photos on twitter of the Curlin colt hip 173 that was the sales topper and OMG he is something.
This Steve Byk podcast I am linking is a good listen when you have time. It starts out talking about the unbelievable bidding war on the colt and then John Sikura of Hill 'n' Dale goes on to talk about the state of the racing and recent events. A good listen:
BYK: John Sikura is as passionate and dedicated an industry stakeholder as we have.
Hear him discuss the $3.65MM Curlin colt (at 19:00) before responding to my question of how we answer our critics with an eloquent, thoughtful dissertation on the sport's current morass (at 41:00).

Barbara Banke mentioned several times.
That colt looks like something really, really special. I need him named so I can follow him!

I know! Can’t believe the price! What an uptick for Curlin! Who needs Frankel, we have the Mighty Curlin! I just hope he lives up to that price on the track!

The April 15 opening day of the under tack show leading up to next week's Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training was challenging, as work times were impacted by headwinds and a track perceived to be heavier than usual.
