That ride by @flothejock on Ete Indien reminded me of the way he rode Gun Runner in the 2018 Pegasus World Cup. Also broke from post 10 that day (in a 12-horse field) with short run to turn. "Same thing, same technique," he told me. "But the horse needs to cooperate."

He rode a great race. Once again proving that a horse on an uncontested lead can be dangerous. He was able to slow Ete down a bit and then kicked away from the field early to win in an easy margin.

I was just coming to post this. 
at least no surgery and just 60 days so the summer/fall races should be in play. He will enjoy WinStar

Maxfield may skip the Derby and point toward Preakness, they don’t want to push him

Smart imho, I know that Sheikh Mo wants to win the Derby but they always put the horse first and the horse will be better in the long run!

I look forward to seeing the return of Maxfield wherever he runs. He was the 2yo I was most looking forward to this year.
