Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is sworn in for a second term following a disputed election in September last year.

Why are the Afghans expected to accept a puppet government of collaborators, bribed to protect the poppy fields and save American soldiers from doing so?

Taliban walk out of 'fruitless' peace talks with Afghan Government

The only future for members of the Taliban Government is to fukk off and join the people they collaborated with.

They had the opportunity to join the resistance and failed to do so.

If the incentive is sufficient they will ultimately sit and do a deal - this is all about incentive

19 years of smashing up the country - but shooting more of them will work now?

'If you live with wolves, you'll become a wolf' As a foreign journalist in Afghanistan, I have an extensive list of dos and don'ts when working in the country. Threatening a Kabul cop in broad daylight is definitely high on my list of don'ts.

Why would I accept anything said by the collaborators?

The US appears to be defeated in Afghanistan - the people are not going to forget or forgive all those who enabled those 19years of atrocity.

Oops, I already answered this.

Just saw:

Between her fits of road rage, Laila and I talked about the possibility of the Taliban returning to power.

"I'm shocked," she said. "The Americans introduced democracy, human rights, women's rights to us and encouraged us to defend them. Now they're telling us that the Taliban are legit?

And my previous answer still applies.

Question is - are you going to blame the white people and the guns in this affair or are you going to blame their victims?

The Vietnamese work with the US, the Germans and Russians deal and work together , the US and Japan work together , Jews and Germany work (very closely) together , the English and French who fought for centuries deal with each other and so on , Egypt , Jordan and Israel deal and work together at many levels , Turkey and Israel work together despite the spats , Israel imports Saudi products and the Saudis import Israeli products , almost if not all the Gulf and Emirates talk with Israel and are cooperating at various levels

Economic requirements trump everything , rebuilding a nation , educating the people , incentives to forge partners and in time people may not forget but new realities over take old hatreds .

Numbnuts is as clueless as usual
